With the background color in place I have to change some of the elements.

Theres no point in having an red stroke sitting on top of an identical red background so I just open the linked files in Illustrator and change the stroke from red to black to make it stand out. I'll save this off as a new Illustrator file and then place it instead of the existing one in Indesign.

Time to save and export a pdf.
